 Mina Ham is best known for her distinctive portrait style, which captures the emotional remnants of unforgettable childhood experiences and traces their lingering impact into the present. Drawing from her personal history, her works transform intense memories into vivid, emotionally charged images. Ham’s paintings reflect an ongoing internal struggle to heal past wounds while revisiting latent traumas, symbolizing her unwavering resolve toward recovery. Through contrasting colors and unique brushstrokes, she creates landscapes where personal memories and emotions interwind, with her canvases transcending time and space to evolve into a powerful collection of emotions deeply connected to her subjects. 

 Mina Ham(b.1987) hosted her first solo exhibition at Seojin Art Space in 2017, followed by those at Public Gallery, Czong Institute for Contemporary Art, Keep in Touch Outhouse, and Galerie ERD. She was featured in group shows at various venues, including the K Museum of Contemporary Art, Seokpajeong Seoul Art Museum, National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, Kumho Museum of Art, and Suwon Museum of Art.

 함미나는 어린 시절 작가의 개인적 경험 및 일련의 사건들과 그로 인해 현재까지 잔존하고 있는 복합적 감정을 인물을 통해 포착한다. 바다 근처 열악한 환경에서 살아가는 러시아 선원의 아이들 모습이나 작가의 유괴사건 이후의 트라우마를 강렬한 이미지로서 작업으로 풀어낸다. 함미나의 회화는 대조적인 색감과 독특한 붓질이 도드라진다. 색채는 감정의 깊이를 드러내며, 뭉개지고 흐르는, 물성 가득한 붓질은 개인적 기억과 감정이 혼재된 풍경을 형성해 낸다. 이러한 화면은 과거의 상처를 회복하려는 그의 내적 투쟁을 담고 있으며, 잠재적 트라우마를 복기하는 과정으로 치유를 향한 작가의 의지를 반영한다. 즉, 그의 회화는 시공간을 초월하는 감정의 집합체로, 그 자체로서 강력한 메시지를 지니고 있는 것이다.

 함미나(b.1987)는 2017년 서진 아트스페이스 개인전을 시작으로, 퍼블릭 갤러리, CICA 미술관, 킵인터치, 별관, 갤러리 이알디에서 개인전을 개최했으며, 국립현대미술관, 금호미술관, K현대미술관, 석파정 서울미술관, 수원시립미술관 등 다수의 그룹전에 참여하였다.
